Is the jacket stucture similar to a hoodie jacket? It's hard to tell from the pictures. Thank you for all your hard work!!!

So I bought this cosplay and I was about 102$ and I when I got it in the mail I noticed that the side straps on the shorts were in fact just two strips of fabric with safety pins on them. For that amount that it is I thought it would atleast come with a way to attach them instead of safety pins.
